Hello....Me and my sister have both been through the hardest year of our life. First off.. I am the older of the 4 of us. All 4 of the kids have struggled with addiction. But, unfortunately me and Lisa are the only ones to achieve long term sobriety. I have 5 years and she has almost 4 years clean and sober. My situation began when my daughter got sick with a kidney infection. She was in the hospital 8 days and then we found out she had to have a kidney removed, that was another 3 days in the hospital. I lost my job and Lisa let me move in with her and her kids. I got my daughter, she's 15 back healthy and I had a hard time finding a job. Lisa was struggling to pay the bills before I moved in and with 3 more people it was just too much. So... she decides to let our brother who had shown a desire to try and change his life stay with her too...he had a decent job and was willing to help with the bills. He did ok for about 2 months then he started taking pills and causing all kinds of chaos. Things started turning up missing, he wasn't giving an money to Lisa for the bills. It was all either she or I could do to stay clean. Well, to make a long story short...she lost her house. We moved our stuff into a friends house and decided to take all the cash we could come up with and move to the beach - Myrtle Beach. We've been her 6 weeks. She has a job driving a taxi. I am working waiting tables. But, all 6 of us are living in a motel. It is a room that has an extra bedroom but still it is hard. The kids are loving being able to go the beach everyday after school but Christmas is coming and it is all we can do to pay the rent here at the motel. We plan on using income tax money to rent a place but till then our Christmas will consist of little of nothing unless someone is willing to help. I am a twice survivor of cancer... Leukemia at age 13 and Breast Cancer at 28. PLEASE if you are looking for a family that truly needs help we are that family. The kids are all great kids...do well in school, my son who is 16 even has a job at Captain D's. They deserve more than they have and we are doing all we can to survive.
